The history of "SPALVOTI KVAPAI "

The brand Spalvoti Kvapai was established in 2004 when the culture of glycerin soap from neighboring Latvia arrived in Lithuania.

Glycerin or glycerol is obtained from plant oils as well as naturally found in fermented products such as beer, wine, or bread. This ingredient was accidentally discovered in 1779 by Swedish chemist K. W. Scheele while heating a mixture of olive oil. He was the one who identified the resulting fats as glycerin. Since the mid-19th century, people have started using glycerin in soap making. This process involves heating certain plant oils, allowing the solution to cool and harden.

“It’s incredible how techniques, color combinations, and fragrance compositions can color transparent glycerin mass and how it hardens into a solid, fragrant, and colorful soap bar. Nothing else but colored scents!”

This is how the brand’s founder, Latvian Vladimirs Litvinenkovs, described the origin of the brand name. In 2010, the founder transferred the development of the brand, its store network in Lithuanian shopping centers, and the concept of natural product production to me, his then employee, who later became his partner and the company’s owner – Ivona Brusokienė.

Alongside the fragrant, colorful, and playful soaps, which we would cut in stores with a specially designed guillotine, bath bombs also took up a significant place.

The history of bath bombs dates back to 1989, when they were invented by Mo Constantine. The idea came out of necessity. She was looking for a way to enjoy a luxurious bath without the irritating effects of traditional bubble baths on the skin. Inspired by the effervescent action of Alka-Seltzer tablets, she experimented with various formulas, eventually creating what we now know as a bath bomb or bath bubble.

PHILOSOPHY

“You can’t just believe in your product. First and foremost, you need to understand it very well,” stated Austrian Dietrich Mateschitz, the founder of Red Bull. This is exactly why, after taking over the business, I went to Huddersfield, UK, to deepen my knowledge. I decided to understand the essence from the ground up – the product manufacturing processes and possibilities. And not just anywhere, but in a country where cosmetics production is at the highest level, as the United Kingdom is home to some of the world’s most renowned manufacturers, such as CHANEL, CLARINS (U.K.), SCHWARZKOPF, ESTEE LAUDER, MAYBELLINE COSMETICS, SOAPWORKS, and many, many others.

Over the years, our product range and professional team have expanded. In our modern laboratory and production facility, we create, test, and manufacture your favorite body, face, and hair care products. We use only the highest quality, carefully selected, certified raw materials that come from all around the world. The effects of our cosmetic products on the skin are tested in independent laboratories. Sustainability is an integral part of Spalvoti Kvapai’s mission. We use only solar energy for our production along side of local well water which is purified and prepared for use in cosmetic products. The water used in the production process is cleaned and returned to nature.

In our range, we used over 150 scents and their combinations. We grouped them, selected your favorites, and added new ones. How can we describe a scent to an online store customer when they can’t smell it? We created a fragrance wheel that allows you to visualize the scent and understand its place among other fragrance families. Widely used in perfumery, the fragrance wheel will help you choose a pleasant aroma from a carefully selected, rich scent palette. You will always be able to harmonize the scents you use and perfectly match the products we offer.
